I joined my school’s ultimate Frisbee team in April 2015 and have loved it ever since. In addition to playing on the school’s co-ed team, I have played on an all-girls’ recreational team (pictured). I have joined the Lexington Catholic team for the 2015-2016 year and look forward to playing an entire season this year.

Danielle Hardy - Sr. LCHS

My name is Danielle Hardy and I am a senior at Lexington Catholic High School. I got involved with the Invent Teams Project at the beginning of my senior year through some of my friends. I have always been intrigued by the mechanics of the world around me. My favorite subjects in school include calculus, chemistry, physics, computer science, and French. My interest in math, science, engineering, and technology prompted me to join the invent team at my school.

Since my freshman year I have been an active member of the Lexington Catholic Service Club. This is the largest and most active student club at Lexington Catholic with over 550 members. Only in its third year, over 600 members have served over 80,000 hours with over 60 charitable organizations in the community. I was voted to be the junior class representative last year and was re-elected to represent the senior class again this year. As an officer it is my job to coordinate weekly, monthly, and annual service activities such as the Knights’ Café (a mentoring program), Backpack Buddies Program (packing food bags for indigent elementary school children), and providing meals and volunteers for the Catholic Action Center. We also sponsor Lexington Cathic’s school-wide events such as the God’s Pantry food drive, the Appalachia Christmas Drive, and, my personal favorite, Dance Blue (pictured). To participate in Dance Blue, students raise money as an entrance fee for the event in the January. For the 2015 year, our school raised $105,042 for the University of Kentucky’s Pediatric Oncology Ward.
